Behavioral Trading was founded by Woody Dorsey and Tiffany LeBlanc in 2002. It was originally called Herd at the Curb. Woody Dorsey has been writing an institutional research service called Market Semiotics since 1985.

Dorsey's innovative work in the field of Behavioral Finance has been featured in Time, Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, Barron's and USA Today. He writes the research from Hubbardton, Vermont, the home of Contrary Opinion. Dorsey has never worked for any Wall Street firm.

Dorsey's methods, including Triunity Theory™, are explained in his book Behavioral Trading: Methods for Measuring Investor Confidence, Expectations and Market Trends (Texere Press, 2003).
